Program:

As you may already know, in March Town Council decided not to pursue a key part of the Smithers Active Transportation Plan. The original intent was to offer public engagement opportunities on an East - West corridor, on Third Avenue. Instead, town staff have been directed to go back and reconsider the Active Transportation Plan, without input from citizens.

I spoke with Mayor Atrill and she suggested we do our own public engagement! So, here am I re-launching Totally Spoke'd to engage with citizens...

I’m really excited to be back in the saddle, because from now until the Christmas holidays we’ll be considering the value of an active transportation plan in Smithers, and how well they’re working in other parts of the world.
In this episode, we’ll ask the questions, “What is an active transportation plan, and do we need one here, in Smithers?” [spoiler alert: they're totally cool, and yes we do need one!]
