Twenty years ago, the United States and as an extension our North American world changed. This album was released a week after the twin towers fell. The story has been told, how Wilco had this album gifted to them by their old record label who deemed it too un-radio friendly and not what "America" needed- only to be resigned by essentially the same label. The album became a cult classic among bands you know, and in my books, is up there with any Velvet Undergound album. You had to be there, and now you are.
