On February 11th, 2021 the tug boat Ingenika sank in rough seas near Kitimat, B.C. It sank as it took on water after trying to pull a large barge in the Gardner Canal, which was battered by icy winds gusting at more than 70 knots. Sea surface temperatures that night were below -20 degrees Celsius. Before sunrise, Troy Pearson and Charley Cragg were dead. Their families have been looking for justice and accountability for their deaths ever since.

Today we’ll hear from Jason Woods, President of the Local 400 Marine Section & General Workers Union and Judy Carlick-Pearson, Troy Pearson’s widow, about what changes to regulations they want Transport Canada to make to keep B.C. mariners safe.
