Space Train Music Series COVID-19 Safety Plan

CICK and the BV Concert Association are partnering up to bring live music back to the valley this winter.

We are proud to present 1000cuts, a trio of soundscapists and EarthChild, hip hop from Wetsuweten territory (previous member of Mob Bounce Travis Heibert).

Now, that sentence might make you wonder why and how we plan to do that during a pandemic.

Let's address the "why" first:

Our two organizations care about the cultural health of the Bulkley Valley. It has been our pleasure to bring new, thought provoking art and music to the people of the Valley. Both organizations have a mission to seek out the lesser-known, the debuting, the slightly off kilter work that is being created by artists and give them a stage and an open-minded audience.

The "how" might surprise you:

We have partnered with the Smithers Legion to offer a safe, socially distanced live music series. At this time we are able to fill the venue to half capacity, but we've chosen to limit ticket sales to 50 people only.

That leaves plenty of space for distancing, and if you are uncomfortable to sit near another person, you have ample room to spread out.

Robin Lough, a CICK board member and BVCA contractor worked with Act Safe BC, an organization that assists in creating safe and updated COVID-19 Safety Plans for businesses and events. We have a thorough COVID-19 Safety Plan which highlights the comfort and safety of our event patrons, volunteers, staff and artists.

For your safety, for the time being, we're also only booking local artists.

One more thing to address:

We know that this might sound odd, sitting and not dancing while music is playing, but our performers are kicking up the visual element of their show a notch and we guarantee this event will feel complete, and you will leave happy and inspired by the music makers of the Valley.

Thank you and we appreciate your support!
