As an honoured representative of Smithers' supreme coolness, er, CICK, I'm currently en route to the National Campus/Community Radio Conference in Kingston, Ontario. Coming up: one week of intense musicology and all things radio. Workshops, live tunes, and a general celebration of community radio goodness. If you have any questions about the conference or that you'd like me to ask of the rest of the folks attending, send 'em to me at editor@smithersradio.com. Keep watching this site for more news...

This week’s book is A Fortune Teller Told Me by Italian author, Tiziano Terzani. Terzani was, for decades, the Asian correspondent for Der Spiegel, the acclaimed German newspaper. He has written articles about some of Asia’s most memorable historic events of the 20th century and has been arrested and thrown out of more than one country for various reasons. In China’s case, it was memorably for being a “counter-revolutionary”. But this book is not about historic events or even about travel with a journalistic slant.
