We are still listening to Robert Moss and his series Dream Gates. Today was called The Shaman's Doorway and was about power animals and relating to animals in your dreams.

I have had many, many animal dreams. In fact, most of my dreams have animals in them. One dream I had, shortly after leaving a long and difficult situation that kept me feeling constricted and more controlled than I wanted to be, was of being an eagle and as I was soaring over the landscape, the ends of my wingfeathers unfolded and straightened out. The last few inches of my wings had been folded over for a long time, and now, finally, they were unfolding and spreading out to their full length.

When I was a young teen, my mother died suddenly one night. She came to me several times in my dreams as a young female deer. When I was about ten, she had sewn me a dress that was covered with tiny brown deer. In the Medicine Cards which is based on the medicine wheel of the First Nations peoples, the deer is the symbol of gentleness. A gentleness so profound, it heals all wounds. She was very gentle. Forty years after I had those dreams, not so long ago, I had another dream of her, where she was a tall, magnificently healthy looking, mature female deer who came out of the woods on the edge of a clearing, walked across the meadow and lay down in front of me.

I was reading one of my dream journals recently about a dream I had a couple of years ago. I was out on the water in a boat. I stepped out of the boat and could walk on the water. Then I dived into the water and started swimming underwater. I could breathe underwater. A large fish swam up to me and smiled at me.

Another dream I had on August 14th 2010. I am standing in the river and my cat, Nua, is standing in the river with me, completely unconcerned about being wet.

There are four or five more parts to this series. It is live on Saturday mornings ten to eleven and rebroadcast Sunday mornings at the same time.
