Spring is here and the energy is high. Birds all over the place, trees in bloom, the annual runoff in the rivers. Hard rain and hot sun. Everything is growing quickly and changing fast.

A friend mentioned that until recently she hadn't thought of herself as being part of that energy, too. And it is true, we humans have been so conditioned to see ourselves as separate from nature, in it but not of it.

Having lived in the wilderness for much of 35 years, I learned to be of it, because there is never any use in going against nature. Nature will always win. We gave up trying to go downstream on our trail beside the river when the spring flood was happening. It was extremely dangerous and simply the wrong thing to be doing. It would be easy to lose a life in that high, brown, rushing water with whole trees bouncing thru. Six weeks later, the river would be serene and the walk, fabulous. Prior to that, scary and dangerous.

We are energy beings in an energy universe. What does that mean? It means we are all part of the whole, we are both singular and one with all. That gives us alot of power and strength, wouldn't you say? Our empowerment is there for us, it is in us, we only have to allow it, to recognize it and to work with it.
