As Christmas approaches, many of us are prepping to celebrate the holiday season with friends and family, to relax and recharge and enjoy a break from the usual hustle and bustle. For many it is a joyous occasion.
But for others, this time of year can be very difficult and challenging.
Every holiday season the rates of impaired driving and domestic violence spike, being one of the most stressful times of the year. Holidays parties sometimes lead to having a bit too much, and being hold up inside on cold winter days can lead to heightened tensions with those you co-habitat with.
That’s why, at this time of year the RCMP, emergency services and mental health services kick into high gear to help those in the community having a difficult time cope, and to keep us safe.
As such, today we chat with Jocelyn Foidart, Media relations officer for the Smithers RCMP about how we can all keep safe during the holiday season.
