After years of planning, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 63 in Smithers unveiled a new veterans crosswalk on Main Street and First Ave. to honour those that made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we all hold dear.

Last week the Legion hosted a ceremony to also mark 100 years of Canadian Legions in Canada and commemorate the new crosswalk that will remain a symbol of remembrance.
