Calvin Williams, this week's guest, is a registered therapeutic counselor in BC, Calvin has deep roots in this part of the province. He is Carrier, specifically Natoo, and a member of the Babine Lake First Nation. Raised in his early years in Fort Babine, he moved to Quick to attend high school in Smithers. With a 3-year bachelor’s degree from Columbia Bible college in Abbotsford, he served as a youth pastor at Kyah Fellowship in Witset for 9 years. Calvin returned to higher education in 2022 and graduated from Rhodes Wellness College in Vancouver, completing their online counseling certification program this past spring. His practice is called “Break the Cycle Counseling”, and his dream is to work himself out of the job by offering the right kind of help and providing the tools needed to overcome anxiety and trauma, the two challenges for which he has specialization. Married with two children, he and his wife live in Smithers and are enjoying the opportunity that comes with their youngest now in grade one, and recently used their new freedom to go out on a date during the school day. Welcome Calvin!
