Outsider songwriter-pop that balances between gaudy/facetious nostalgia and immensely creative, serious art. Like Dan Deacon, or Ariel Pink. This album has a darker tone, as though he were taking on the voice of your serial killer captor, were he to be quite a funny lad. I feel some Stockholm syndrome. Really very good!
