Vocals remind me of Nick Cave (low, weird, breathy), music is vaguely Neil Young, the whole thing has a rockier Timber Timbre kind of thing going on. It's somewhere between alt-country and neo-folk. Members of the band have a history in hardcore/metal, which is interesting, given that mostly this album has a slower pace, with plenty of pedal steel, organs, and acoustic guitars. Grows on you...
