Review:
A quintet with a sound "firmly rooted in the 50s and 60s hardbop movement." A sound reminiscent of 'Blue Note Recordings comes alive with modern sensibilities complete with a tenor sax, trumpet, piano, drums and bass. Almost like a Coltrane/Davis sound, that was recorded live off the floor and "teetering on the brink," while innovating along the way. Interesting listening.
