Review:
In my opinion, Sufjan's best. It's stripped down to the heart of his music -- a guy and his guitar. The orchestral composition stuff he's known for is here, but really subtle. Lyrics are deeply personal (Carrie is his late mother, Lowell his stepfather) and raw. Listening on repeat. Check out pitchfork for a really good detailed review: http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/20218-carrie-lowell/
