The BC Nurses Union has been trying to negotiate a better deal with the Health Employers Association of BC in recent months without success. On Tuesday the BCNU voted overwhelmingly to support a strike mandate that could see some nurses refuse overtime and potentially sets up the conditions for strike action right across the province, at a time when pressures on our health care system are at an all-time high.
