The Northwest Fire Centre is already attending to wildfire in the region and gearing up for what could be a very hot and dry fire season.

Some critical crews are already in place throughout the region, and more are currently being trained. This month the BC Wildfire Service is confident all resources will be in place to defend against potential wildfires in the coming weeks and months.

The Northwest Fire Centre headquarters is in Smithers, and I had a chance to tour the facility, the heart of wildfire command, and speak with information officer Kaitlyn Bailey to find out what is going to be needed to ensure fire crews have what they need to battle yet another dangerous wildfire season in Northwest, B.C.
