What you can do..
We are getting close. With the possibility of getting our radio license approved after the March 30th CRTC hearing, we want to be able to flip the switch and start broadcasting.
There is still lots to do, including finalizing our programming schedule, building our studio (kindly donated by One Sky Smithers), outfitting the space with radio gear, training our radio programming volunteers, and finally raising the funding to do all of this.
Seems like a lot, but not with your help.
What can you do?
1. Become a Member or Founding Sponsor - you will have the satisfaction of knowing you are a supporter of something new, cool, and positive for the community. Check out our membership info here
2. Volunteer - whether you want to produce a radio program or would just like to help out (swing a hammer, co-ordinate and/or train other volunteers, fund raise, balance our books, etc.), contact us.
3. Donate stuff - It's not just financial help we are looking for, but radio and sound equipment. Everything we can get donated or loaned to us is one less thing we have to purchase. We are looking for:
- sound/mixing board
- table(s) and chairs
- microphones and mic-preamps
- mic stands
- mic cables
- computers and monitors
- telephone
- recording devices (for roving reporters)
- speakers/monitors
- turn table
- cd player
- other??
4. Spread the word - This is an exciting opportunity for the community. Let people know about us.
I can't thank everyone who has helped us get this far. It is thrilling to know we will soon be hearing our friends, neighbors and fellow community members on the air soon.
Thanks
Glen
