Classically trained on Ukelele with a BA from UBC. 6th album is not the traditional folk of past albums. From the first chord, it’s harder and rockier. The uke is still in the forefront, but for the most part not the shimmery, folksy acoustic sound. There is a certain Plaskettesque quality to the sound (Joel Plaskett produced). First half of album is more indie pop while last 6 songs are stripped down folk/roots(#9 is blues).
