Country-tinged indie folk from a guy whose music is influenced by two places: reading poetry and singing simple songs; and playing in a post-hardcore band, Alexisonfire. He's won JUNOs both for his solo stuff and for the punk. This album is what you'd call "honest" music. Super mellow, well-produced. Sings in falsetto a lot. Guest musicians include members of Raconteurs, My Morning Jacket, Pearl Jam, and BB King. Can't really go wrong with any of the songs.
