2007 album 'oh my darling' was polaris nominated. 2010 album 'heart of my own' was juno nominated. This time around Bulat experiments with more electronic sounds on some tracks making an exploration into pop rather than just folk. She has a distinctive, Tracy Chapman, alto warble to her voice.
