Having battled back from a series of debilitating accidents, chronic pain and prescription drug addiction, Laura Smith releases her first album after sixteen year. Her burnished contralto voice is described "like a warm duvet on a cold winters' night" and I agree. Her versions of traditional, covers and four originals are comforting, quiet, simple and beautiful.
