New sonic ideas, that conjure an eccentric, dystopian, chamber rendering of the melodramatic 80s, are piled on top of showy falsetto style R&B vocals . Playful and austere, instrumentation includes sax, flute, piano, synths and intricate production work. Disorientingly nostalgic, with creative bravado. Excellent album.
