This week (April 8th, 2023 @ 10am) on River ReadsEpisode 7 - Mermaids, Magic & Matches: The Macabre, host River Wilde narrates more classics from The Fairy Tales of Hans Christian Andersen: 1) 'The Tinder Box'; 2) 'The Little Match Girl'; and 3) part 1 of 2 of 'The Little Mermaid'.

While happy to announce that this week's episode does not have the same level of sexual shaming of female characters, there is however, a fair amount of death in this week's selection. So if you find you’re sensitive to death and dying, perhaps tune in to another episode of River Reads.

On this episode, we’re trying something a little different, as Wilde will be reading Part one of two of 'The Little Mermaid'. Which found itself just a little too long to read in its entirety in an episode. You’ll have to tune in next week for it’s conclusion on River Reads: Episode 8- The Pink & Part 2 of The Little Mermaid.

This week on River Reads, Wilde narrates:

River Reads Fairy Tales and Stories: “Not a Kids Show But Not NOT a Kids Show." River Reads is a program where those of all ages can escape into bedtime stories and fairy tales; both new and old, but mostly old and at times macabre, or silly, or even perhaps a little confusing as written in old english, and then there’s those stories whose premises or message has perhaps not aged as well over the years, let’s face it you can’t be too picky when you’re dependent upon material available to you through creative commons.
