We're switching things up tonight on Radio Imigrante, so for the first half hour, co-host Kimberly Lipscombe celebrates International Youth Day with songs by and for youth. She also re-caps the Welcome to Smithers! Family Fun Night, a Welcoming Communities event that took place during Homecoming last week.
In the last hour, DJ Chad introduces a recent newcomer to Smithers, Akufuna, who is originally from Zambia and lived in Namibia and Toronto before moving to Smithers a month ago. His background is in education and music, so we have the pleasure of learning about many African rhythms, styles, and instruments on tonight's show.
