Hiring Youth Programmer Support & Comm. Outreach Coordinator

Help CICK celebrate our 10 Year Anniversary.

CICK is looking to hire a youth between the ages of 17-30 for our Programmers Support & Community Outreach Coordinator position. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work independently or with a team. They will be tasked to help volunteers and programmers at the station, promote CICK and our 10yr anniversary at a variety of events and open-houses over the summer.This is a super fun position and has as much potential as the youth is willing to explore.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Work with CICK staff to outreach with new and existing community partners (Music Festivals, Arts events, etc) that will result in the promotion of CICK and attract new volunteers and listeners to the station.

  • Train new and assist existing programmers at the station

  • Assist with audio/technical support of our live concert series, Lounge Car Sessions.

  • Utilize social media to promote and highlight CICK and our projects/events.

  • Organize and coordinate volunteer appreciation events (movie nights, DJ nights, BBQ's)

  • Host open-house tours of the station's 100 year old train-car studios.

  • Manage new music submissions and coordinate volunteer reviewers.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team

  • Excellent communication and written skills

  • Social Media tools awareness

  • Ability to communicate complex technical terms/techniques to non-technical people

  • Prepared to balance a number of priorities against tight deadlines.

  • Open minded and prepared to work with culturally diverse groups, organizations, and volunteers.

  • Ability to organize, problem solve and coordinate large numbers of volunteers.

  • Audio editing experience an asset

  • A love of music is an asset

Youth will be receive training, mentoring and supervision throughout the work-term.

Employment will begin June 17th and will terminate after 8wks. Hourly rate is $15/hr, 35hrs/wk. Send to info@smithersradio.com.
