Today on Art Beat I’m spoke about Songs from The Silver Screen. This is the theme of the Smithers Art Gallery’s spring fundraiser coming up at the Della Herman Theatre on Saturday March 21st. I chatted with Poppy Dubar who has been organizing this event for the Smithers Art Gallery.

Do you know where the term Silver Screen comes from?

That was my first official ART BEAT show and first by myself radio show (with the Station Manager spotting me-Whew!)

Thanks for your patience with the pauses and transitions as I learn my way around the technology and try to keep up the right amount of talking between music.

From my art heart,

Colleen S

Below are links to photos and photographers I spoke about on today's show; and the show itself if you want to listen online.

Behind The Lens: A Radio Portrait of the people behind the photographs

What's the connection between former South African President Nelson Mandela, rocker Bryan Adams, and children's performer Raffi? Photography!

Inspired by the SSS CLICK Student Photography Auction now happening in Smithers this week's show is a music infused snap-shot of two Canadian portrait photographers, a musician, and a great man who unites them all.
