Words are used frivilously in rockmusic sometimes. Sometimes, you want to press pause after every line to sit and think about it for an hour. Destroyer appeals to the latter. This is my favorite album from the 90s. I love it even more than Bonnie 'Prince' Billy's "I see A Darkness."More than Smog's "Wild Love." More than Songs:Ohia's "Didn't it rain." More, even then the Silver Jews "Natural Bridge." That said, this album shares something in common with all of these albums, and adds a lo-fi raunch to folk that makes it exciting in a very specific, somewhat nostalgic way. Regardless, it's a perfect album!
