There is a book in the window of Interior Stationery called the Brain's Way of Healing, by Norman Doidge M.D. I haven't got through all of it yet, but if anyone out there is interested in helping someone with Parkinson's disease, I would urge you to read it. It is fascinating how one man was able to hold back his symtoms through focused intention and what he called 'fast walking'. He had huge success against Parkinson's with his method and he taught many others. He had so much success that some doctors didn't believe him, but Dr. Norman went to Africa and spent time with the man, John Pepper, who wrote a book about his method. Since what little I have seen of Parkinson's is so awful, I would suggest anyone with the disease or related to someone with the disease, read the book and learn his method. He made a huge difference in the quality of his own life and of those whom he taught.
